Congratulations to Matt Gawel for taking down Event 5! This was Matt’s third Syndicate victory since joining the club last season.
Kevin finished in 2nd place, making this his second final table appearance in the four events he’s played. Wendi took 3rd place, earning her second top-6 finish of the season. Steve A and Paul H finished 4th and 5th, respectively, both making their first final table appearances of the season.
The Wizard, Jon Towers, and Gary B finished 6th through 8th, rounding out our money winners.

The Leaderboard:
Mary Anne and John Borges held on to the top two spots on the leaderboard despite not scoring in either of the past two events. Jon Towers moved into 3rd place with his 7th-place finish this week. Bob C and Troy each dropped one spot, landing in a tie for 4th place, while the Wizard and Wendi moved up into a tie for 6th place. Kevin and Matt also moved into the guaranteed-seat bracket with their finishes this week.
Interestingly, just 10 points separate the top five players, and only 30 points separate the top 10. With the standings still so tight, anyone in the top 28 could vault into 1st place with a win at the next event!
Next Up
Our next event is Saturday, November 7th at 3:15 pm. This will be a regular deep stack tourney with a 40k starting stack with blinds beginning at 100/200/200.
