The Leaderboard:
Keith came into the event sitting in 2nd place, but after busting before the points, he joked, “Well, as long as Gonzalo doesn’t go too deep, I should hold my spot tonight.”
That result has completely tightened the race at the top. We now have a four-player battle for the #1 spot this season, with Gonzalo, Matt G, Keithy, and Scotty N all firmly in contention.
Just behind them, Robert, Tom Luu, and Farid are still within striking distance – they could sneak into a Main Event seat with a big finish in the final event.
There’s also plenty of drama further down the standings, including a tie between Steve P and Paul H for the final guaranteed $1,500 seat.
In the playoff race, every player down to Steve A in 25th place still has a shot at locking up a guaranteed seat. Even deeper, players all the way down to Becky in 54th place remain alive in the hunt to make the playoffs.
What’s at stake?
Anyone who reaches the playoffs not only has a chance to win a $1,500 WSOP seat—but they’re also still in the running for the ultimate prize: a $10,000 Main Event ticket.
Good luck to everyone heading into the final event – this is going to be a wild finish!
