Congratulations to Christopher “Payday” Black for keeping his candy bar in our tie-breaker match on Thursday night. This was just our second tie-breaker in Syndicate history. The first was won by Craigy vs Joy back in Season 13. And it should be noted that Craigy went on to win a Main Event that season!
This mini-tournament was between Christopher, Paul H and Jonkey. The winner would advance straight to our Sunday Main Event Bonus Tourney. The other two players drop down into the Playoff Tourney on Saturday. They played an elimination match first with all three players. The first one out was Jonkey, who ran out of chips about 90 minutes into the match. After another 45 minutes Paul took down the first game.
The two remaining contenders played another match with Christopher coming out on top. So now they played a final rubber match and after a little over an hour Paul made his final stand with A6 while Christopher tabled QQ. The flop brought two more queens and no one even bothered to run the rest of the board out!
Congratulations again to Christopher and good luck in the playoff to Paul and Jonkey. And a big thank you to Ranjit for hosting this fun event!
